The memorial feast of our Patron Saint, St. Peter, and the 45th Parish Day was celebrated on July 1st & 2nd 2023. The event was blessed by the esteemed presence of Archbishop His Eminence Mor Titus Yeldho, who also served as the chief celebrant, accompanied by priests from sister-churches joining in concelebration. The presence and prayers of all faithful graced this solemn occasion.
On Saturday, April 01 2023, as part of the Great Lenten Service Project series, a church spring cleaning event was held. This year, we shared our cleaning efforts with Earthday.org. The planning of the cleaning event featured an interior and exterior cleanup of the church premises
Early February of 2023, the region in the middle of Turkey and Syria experienced a massive earthquake. The estimated death toll from the earthquake surpassed 50000 people. In the face of such calamity, as a church - we pray and we respond. As part of that response, during the 2023 Lenten season, our parish designated Turkey/Syria earthquake relief as one of our Lenten service projects.
On March 18, 2023, the church members gathered at St. Peter’s to help build furniture for refugees and immigrants in need. We partnered with World relief Chicagoland, a global Christian organization that empowers local church to serve the most vulnerable. The members brought their own tools, an high spirits to build a 3-chest dresser from IKEA. We were able to make 10 dressers. The event provided an opportunity for all of us to serve our brothers and sisters to rebuild their lives in a new country.
