The St. Peters Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church in Northlake, IL will be hosting a DAY of Thanksgiving event on Saturday, November 18th to kickoff the holiday season of giving. The whole day will be devoted to activities that showcase the spirit of Thanksgiving and will conclude with our annual feast. Activities planned for that day will include a 5k Turkey Trot (Check-in at Rossi Picnic Pavilion, not at church), centerpiece competition, food pantry service event, citywide scavenger hunt, and an escape room challenge. Participants will be assigned to various teams for each of these events. All donations (food, monetary, etc) will be given to Beyond Hunger, a local food pantry in the Oak Park area. This event is more than just a day of activities, it’s a way to celebrate our bond as church family while helping our local community. See you there!
